Anti-Americanism
America is trying to have it its own way again! In the recent turn of events between China and Tibet, America is acting like an Ass instead of trying to facilitate peace between two peoples.
Nanci Pelosi, the democratic congresswoman from California went to visit Dali Lama in Dharamsala, India and instead of helping the Tibetan people negotiate peace and autonomy with China, she pured gasoline on the fire inciting animosity from the Chinese, by telling China that, “China is evil and persecuting and oppressing Tibetan people, and she demands independence for Tibet!”

Nancy Pelosi, is an adept diplomat who does not care about Tibetan people but came to promote the alternative agenda of USA. What is she trying to do, make China look bad, so she can bring all the manufacturing jobs back to America? Please, that will never happen, the world relies on China for its low cost manufacturing.
Is she trying to promote democracy in China? Well, American pseudo-democracy is a political ideology that in practice does not really work. America suppresses its own minorities and silents unpopular believes . America denies its own citizens rights and tears apart families. Not allowing parents to be with their children, when parents are American citizens and children are not. America deprives its own citizens the rights over their own bodies all in the name of moral and righteousness. In America if a woman sells her body for sex that is illegal and she goes to jail, so does the man who buys sex from her. Eliot Spitzer, ex senator, righteous corruption fighter gets caught with a 5,000 usd hooker. In China even though prostitution is illegal, it is practiced and respected.
So what does dear pure Nancy trying to promote in China? Could she be trying to help her imperialistic regime to break China up in small regions like it has done to Russia? America wants to be the global king, the only superpower left in the world. America does not give a fuck in facilitating peace between people. The Israeli - Palestinian dilemma is evidence to such a fact. After decades of negotiations and fighting the two brothers are still at war.
Tibetan people cannot have independence today, but they can have an autonomy so their culture and heritage is preserved and not destroyed by the influx of Chinese tourist. And America can help it happen instead of getting on its high white horse preaching democracy! America brought democracy to imperial Japan, but at what cost? How many innocent civilians it murdered with firebombing and nuclear bombs? America trying to bring democracy to Iraq by pitting Shia and Sunni brothers against each other.

America is so self centered and pure that it thinks the whole world revolves around it. It preaches freedom and democracy to other nations but does not give it to its own people and imposes its liberties on other nations at the point of a gun. America is not the land of the free and the home of the brave, but the land of the hypocrites , the greedy, and the obese.

I think you’ve over-simplified a lot of things, Igor. To blame the U.S. for not better facilitating peace between Israel and Palestine is unfair…they’ve been at each other’s throats for over 50 years! Jimmy Carter won a Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts; sadly, there is nothing the U.S. or any other country can do to stop the hatred….that will have to come from the people involved, not from outsiders. And where do you get the idea that prostitution is an illegal (true), but HONORED profession in China?
Finally, Elliot Spitzer is NOT a righteous corruption fighter, but rather a hypocritical, egotistcal scumbag who rails against illegal behavior while engaging in it. Frankly, I don’t care if you visit prostitutes and I’ll admit to having done so myself a few times over the years. But I don’t stand on a pedestal and condemn the practice as Spitzer did to get elected. I really think you need to keep your politics out of your business practices; it just isn’t smart business.

I visit prostitutes from time to time and is nothing wrong with it. But I do like free love, whenever I can find it..:)
Prostitutes are honored in Asia, because they bring money to the family, or they use to be honored for that.
Israeli problem is not as simple. It would be better if America got out of there. Especially Bush America. If Palestinians what to have a State, they do not need Israeli permission to do so, nor do they need anyone else to bless that. Look at Kosovo and East Timor, they decided to be intependent and just went out and did it. NATO and UN should bring troops to Gaza Strip, West Bank, and East Jerusalem and Palestinians should make their own passports. Lots of talk and no action. Many people have to suffer on both sides.
I am not blaming Americans for everything..:) But George Bush gets a big part of the blame. He and his policies are idiotic! I think the country is still called America, not Bush Land! Anyway he is going back to his ranch to catch Bin Laden dead or alive…

I do not agree with Nancy Pelosi politics but do not think she is attempting to bring manufacturing jobs back to america. The labor costs in america are too high to allow this to happen; the people know this. What is the rest of the doing to help China?
As for denying citizens its rights, I am not sure what you are talking about. You make a general blanket statement like this with no real details on what you are talking about. You claim it denies its own citizens rights and tearing apart families? It surpresses it minoroites and silences unpopular beliefs? What are you talking about? We have complete freedom of speech. We have programs and educational grants for our minorities. We have welfare programs and health care for the economically deprived. We provide housing for the poor. You are such as ass. America was your home for many years, that seemed to suit you. What did you do to make it a better place? You are a man without a country! You choose not to live where you came from, but sit in your bully pulpit and critize others. This does not surprise me as I have seen your typical; arrogant attitude in person. It’s amazing how someone whom sits outside looking in has all the answers.
Rarely does a prostitute go to jail in america as rarely does the customer. Prostitutes generally have a host of other problems and a long history of interactions with the law. You can try to pick any specific incindent in the history of any country and find fault. Japan also attacked Pearl Harbor Killing thousands of people. I am sure your country has done everything perfect (wherever that might be). Thailand is a nice nation, you are not representative of the country or the people.
There is no such thing as good governments! There is only the lepar with the most fingers. As Ronald Regan said “Governments are not the solution, they are the problem”. You fail to mention any good things about america. You are the typical ignoramous whom knows little what you are talking about. You have all the answers, but from your little office on the other side of the world. If America sucks so bad then do not take American customers money!
I am not in agreement with many of the Bush administrations policies and welcome the change. But I do not welcome your pompous blow hard attitude. What has your government done? Oh, that’s right, you do not have one!

Chris, do not get upset. This is a rant! It is not a political blog where everything anybody says is the law. I am sorry my post made you feel bad. I am not criticizing American people but the government. I am not making fun of people who have problems with their weight.
America has good thing to offer like any other country. I got my university education there. I spent 20 years in America. My mother is American citizen and American government will not let me visit her. They will not grant me a visa. This is is not just happening to my family, but it is happening with other families in the States. My mother is on her death bed and I cannot be with her. Also I am not sitting on my Ass felling high and mighty criticizing other people. I am not perfect and I have my good points and bad one’s. I travel around the world and live and work with other people. I was born in Russia, that has its own problems, immigrated to Israel when I was young and grew up in USA. Now I live in Japan and my business with my Thai partner Charlie is in Thailand.
Is there a perfect place on this planet to live? No there is not! We are people and have our own believes and our own ways of doing things. We have to make life how we can and with whom we can as a society.
I hope through your travels you will experience different things and one day you may agree with me on certain things.

Lauren, it all depends on a relationship two people have between each other. No one should tell others how to live there life and what standards they should follow. This is Respect!
If you and your wife feel good about your monogamous relationship, I am very happy for you and your wife.
I am open with my wife about relationships I have with other woman. We have been married for 18 years now and we are happy with each other and love each other. For me having a sexual relationship with another woman is not love. Love takes time to build with many ups and downs. My wife knows I go out with other woman from time to time, she is jealous, but she understands me. I always say to her if you want to meet someone you are welcome to, but she has never done so.
Being open with my wife is what keeps our union together for all these years. Will this work for other couples I do not know and cannot advise, but let each figure out what works for them.

Read about Tokyo firebombing, Osaka firebombing and other big metropolis firebombing in Japan and you maybe able to see a bigger picture. How many innocent children, women, and non combatant men have died before even America dropped the two nukes?

Actually, I don’t think you’ve over-simplified it. I think it’s even more simple. Nancy needs votes from her constituents, and there’s a lot of people in her district (San Francisco) that think (1) Tibet is cool and (2) China sucks. Now she can say, “see, I’m cool too”.
As far as I know she did not say “China is evil and persecuting and oppressing Tibetan people, and she demands independence for Tibet!” as you wrote. No, instead she made some wimpy little sound bites like “this crisis is a challenge to the conscience of the world.” She has no spine. All she cares about is getting votes.

Meike, it is Kathmandu! I love that temple. You can walk around and turn the little drums. Also the all seeing eyes are nice..:)
I have not been to Tibet yet. I hope I can make it to Lasa this sumer but who knows with all the attention my not happen. I heard you may not be able to get an individual travel permit ot Tibet because of all the problems, but a group permit may be doable. So I would have to Piggy back on a tour group and dump them once crossed into Tibet. Will just be expensive, thats all.
I am planing to go to Tibet this sumer. Start in the north part of China Shenyang, Beijing, Xian, Xining, Chengdu, Lasa, and then to Nepal, Manali India, and to Thailand. Should keep me going for about 3 months.
Steve, I sort of paraphrased Nancy, and gave her a little more attention than she asked for, being that she asked for it by putting herself and her mouth in the situation..:) Nancy and the rest of America should deal with domestic problems and leave the international scene alone for a while. America is spending billions of dollars in Iraq but not accomplishing anything.
Looks like America is back to square one in Iraq. It is worried about Iranian support for Shiite, and it is welcoming Sunni style of fist power government. Back to Sadam in Iraq I hope no one is surprised by this. America was in bed with Sadam against Iran for a long time. So what did America accomplish by hanging Sadam? Now back to square one!
