Freedom of Speech
We often cry that our rights of Freedom of Speech as granted to us by the United States Constitution under the Bill of Rights first amendment have been violated!
But do we not violate the Freedom of Speech of others? As Bloggers we block and ban other Bloggers just because we disagree with their opinions. We delete their comments from our blogs, we block them on Twitter, we block them on our Friend Feed.
Are Bloggers the biggest Hypocrites the world has seen?
If we do not guard the rights to Freedom of Speech we will lose them. I feel we have already lost them because Amerika is a Fascist State!
But the rights to Freedom of Speech are not granted to us by America, but granted to us by God! Only He giveth and He taketh!

What you are suggesting makes no sense.
What if the person was a troll and was leaving you harassing comments. Of course you have a right to block them.
Freedom of speech means you can’t deny people the right to publish under space they own and you can’t deny them the right to speak truth to power. But everyone has the right to ignore what you are saying.

Digi, I kind of figured you will be he first one to comment, being that you are a Human Rights advocate.
There are no Trolls, but there are labels! We label people as Trolls, Jews, Gay, and other derogative names just because we disagree with them.

I have a feeling if somebody was threatening your life or leaving racist comments you’d ban them. At least - I hope you would.

I would not Ban a person but engage them and find out what it is about!

Well, in one way I agree with banning those type of people Digadave was speaking about “if somebody was threatening your life or leaving racist comments you’d ban them.” However, I also agree with Igor, that if someone bans you just because they don’t happen to like your opinion, that is wrong, and it does take our Freedom Of Speech away. If you don’t happen to agree with someones opinion, there is a way to deal with it, or you don’t have to deal at all with it, just ignore it….maybe after awhile it will go away. Just to ban, for the heck of it, is wrong. Also I agree with Igor, to engage that person you don’t agree with instead of banning.
I have found some that make nasty remarks at my comments, and it seems others have actually came to my defense, and called that person’s comment to me offensive. So I didn’t have to engage them at all. Also, sometimes you misunderstand someones comment to you, and you have to engage them, because your not sure what they might have been thinking at the time. Then you just feel stupid because you have just totally misunderstood that person and their comment.
