Seesmic FAIL - Social Media Video Blogging
Seesmic does not allow Viral, Satire and Parody videos that deal with controversial social issues! After I posted a parody video about @amandachapel the Failed PR blogger Brian Connolly from Strompette.com, the CEO of Seesmic Loic Lemeur warned me not to post videos with such topics! In my Parody video I put panties on my head and said I am Amanda Chapel. The Parody is to show that Amanda Chapel with her avatar of a woman having her skirt lifted shown panties is actually a Dude Brian Connolly! (Learn more about Brian Connolly)

Loic Lemeur called it a Sex video, saying it violated Seesmic TOS I do not believe my video violated Seesmic TOS and it has nothing to do with Sex! Maki ng a viral video to critique a virtual persona is not Sex. Loic Lemuer said that no Viral, Parody, or Satire of Rape, Sex, Suicide, Murder, Race, Death or any other sensitive issues are allowed on Seesmic!

Satire and parody are complex when dealing with social issues! You must read the whole conversation essay not take one sentence out of context a decide on the opinion of the writer!
I feel there is a hidden reason why Loic Lemeur told me not to post controversial viral videos!

In blogging as well is in writing we use Freedom of Speech to convey our ideas channeling content through linguistic tools as satire, parody, and viral content utilizing symbolism and metaphors! This is creative communication! Freedom of Speech is granted to us by the First Amendment of the USA Bill of Rights! Seesmic is incorporated in California USA and should respect the First
Amendment!
On my blog I write about different social issues such as society, politics, philosophy, psychology, travel and sexuality! When I use Social Media networks I respect their TOS! I do not feel I have violated Seesmic TOS but I and Seesmic have been Cyberbullied by a few people with self interests! By Loic Lemeur bending to their pressures the whole Seesmic community is to suffer because now viral, parody, and satire videos are not allowed! Are Seesmic users going to talk about dry toast and their launch one video after another?
I estimate more than half the videos on Youtube are viral, parody & satire! We as artists use this linguistic tools to express ourselves! Luckily there is alternative network that has been built, it is in private beta now! Phreadz http://blogs.zdnet.com/enterprisealley/?p=173 The Phreadz developer is from UK and built the network with no Venture Capitalist money! In his intro video he says that viral and crazy videos are welcomed! I recommended to Ted Murphy the CEO of IZEA and SocialSparks to invest into Phreadz, and I hope he listens! We need competing products not monopoly and Fail Whales!

This is interesting. So Seesmic is for what, exactly…talking about nothing? Or can we talk about TV and pop culture and music and anything else that turns a profit for someone, but when something controversial comes up then we are silenced?
I am pretty sure that people can change that. Anyone else not too new to the social media game to remember when Kevin tried to take the DVD decrypt key off of Digg? Suddenly the whole site was flooded with submissions including the key, all being dugg up to the frontpage. There was nothing that could be done without simply shutting down Digg. Eventually Kevin gave up and blogged the key himself. This all happened in the space of a day.
I suggest, my dear Igor, that you start a project. Everyday post a new controversial topic here and encourage people through your various social media connections to give their 2 cents….on Seesmic. Only topics that people actually disagree on, so “racism is bad” is not a good choice; almost everyone at least publicly agrees with that.
I suggest “eugenics” as the first subject, and make sure to distinguish active eugenics (killing off bad genetic elements) from passive eugenics (simply not allowing elements you don’t want to be born). Funnily enough, everyone thinks the former is an abomination, but the second is downright normal. After all, why else do they do prenatal exams where they test for retardation, etc? So you can end the pregnancy before the child is born.

Neal I think you are really angry with Seesmic! You do not like when someone prevents you from expressing yourself in a creative way!
I am with you 100 percents in advocating a change on Seesmic! I read about what Muhammad Saleem did on Digg and how he rallied everyone around the cause when Kevin Rose deleted the encrypted key! I hope we can change Seesmic for the good!
I know you said “racism” is bad and I agree with you but someone should show that it is bad!
Maby Loren Feldman should do it being that he has a problem when it comes to “race”. Hey Loren can do a Minstrel show in Blackface! When Black bloggers criticize Loren for his TechNigga parody he always claims that he is not the first one and cites Blackface! But Loren never does Blackface but created a Black puppet to make more fun of black people! I think Loren has no guts! So here is his real chance for him to prove that he is not prejudice!
Can Loren Feldman do Blackface on Seesmic to show that he is not a racists? I doubt it, he is all hot air! As for me I will do “Dry Toast!”
Maybe Brian Connolly can do Amanda Chapel in dress showing “her” panties! lmao
